Caught in a Landslide

Caught in a Landslide presents works by international artists awarded the visual arts work stipend of the Berlin Senate: Özlem Altın, Alex Baczyński-Jenkins, Stephanie Comilang, Christopher Kline, Luzie Meyer, Nguyễn + Transitory und Bussaraporn Thongchai, Kristina Paustian, Andrea Pichl, Neda Saeedi, Babette Semmer, virgil b/g taylor, Jasmin Werner, Melanie Jame Wolf.

This publication brings together installation views of both exhibition parts at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein and KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art. Text and image contributions by the participating artists themselves offer insights into research and production processes, functioning as working notes that translate artistic approaches into the book format. Annett Gröschner offers a contemporary view of Berlin – specifically Prenzlauer Berg – from the perspective of a writer who grew up in East Germany. In Fabian Saul’s essay, grief lies at the center – understood as a personal and collective experience and as a site of possibility for shared solidarity. Amid global crises and local transformations, the positions gathered mirror what it means to be “caught in a landslide” – and to keep thinking and working nonetheless.

The publication can be purchased at local bookshops, via the website of Buchhandlung Walther und Franz König, and at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein. Members of Neuer Berliner Kunstverein can buy the book at n.b.k. for the special price of 15.00 Euro.
