Wolf Vostell (*1932 in Leverkusen / Germany, †1998 in Berlin) was a founder of the art Happening movement in Europe and a key participant in the Fluxus movement. He was one of the first international video artists and became known for his “dé-coll/age” actions in the 1950s. Vostell made his first appearance at the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein in 1971 as co-initiator of what was then known as the Videothek, and he was involved in numerous exhibitions.
