Ulrike Ottinger
Ulrike Ottinger (*1942 in Konstanz / Germany, lives in Berlin) is best known for her visually powerful films that weave together literary, mythological, cinematic, ethnomusicological, and historical references and the ruptures and contradictions they contain. Her preferred artistic means and methods include collage and montage, transformation and metamorphosis, and the blurring of documentary and fiction, as well as the boundaries of gender.
