Mykola Ridnyi
Mykola Ridnyi (*1985 in Kharkiv / Ukraine, lives in Kyiv) studied fine art at the
Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts in Kharkiv / Ukraine. In his work, which includes video, film, photography, performance, and installation, he critically examines the social and sociopolitical context of the post-Soviet environment. Ridnyi is co-founder and curator of the artists’ collective SOSka Group, which was established in 2005 to support the local artistic and cultural scene in Kharkiv. SOSka Group has initiated various projects, including the art space SOSka Gallery-Lab (2005–2012) in Kharkiv.
