Józef Robakowski
Józef Robakowski (*1939 in Poznań / Poland, lives in Łódź / Poland) is one of the most well-known Polish film and video artists. After producing 16mm and 35mm films, he began making video works in 1974. He played a key role in the formation of important experimental artist groups such as Zero-61 and Warsztat Formy Filmowej. Robakowski’s interdisciplinary approach includes both performative and conceptual tendencies, and his work often refers to the Polish Constructivism of the 1920s and 1930s.
