Anatoly Shuravlev

In his work, Anatoly Shuravlev (*1963 in Moscow, lives in Berlin) addresses the blurring of boundaries between contexts of art and mass media. Originally, Shuravlev operated against the backdrop of Russian Conceptualism, using the medium of painting to reflect on semantic and semiotic issues. Since 1991, the artist has increasingly devoted himself to photography and video in order to investigate the conditions and contingencies of our communication structures.
