In his video works, Amir Yatziv (*1972 in Karmiel / Israel, lives in Tel Aviv / Israel and Berlin) explores narratives of the past, examining their multiple, sometimes incoherent, contemporary interpretations. His works evoke a sense of alienation through which he demonstrates the impossibility of a single historical truth. Using contemporary documents from recent history as a starting point, Yatziv approaches possible meanings, derivations, and interpretations through the instrument of language, simultaneously adopting the role of journalist, historian, and director.
