Joan Jonas
Jonas already developed her first trans-media performances during the late 1960s. In closed-circuit installations, she explores the body in interaction with space. “Imagine yourself on a spaceship”: with this sentence in Double Lunar Dogs, she reveals something of her artistic method: for her, video is something like a spaceship, a transporter with the help of which she can transport the (role) image that she makes of herself into the most elementary and complex constellations.
