Hiroharu Mori

defocused story

Mori critiques social conventions, those of Japan in particular. Personal experiences, like the paradoxical feeling of being foreign in his own country, as happened to him that after returning from the USA to Japan, define the subjects of his work. defocused story deals both with the subject of translation as well as historically contingent gender roles by way of a narrative about a man who mistakenly uses a subway car reserved for women in Tokyo.
