In his installations, paintings, and videos, Zobernig questions institutional display and its structures of presentation, often focusing on peripheral objects like chairs, pedestals, or curtains. Simple interventions challenge us to reflect on our own position in the system. In Nr. 12, he uses blue-screen compositing: he moves naked through an exhibition space where the walls show Chicago city surrounding the art institution.
