Fabrizio Plessi


In his videotapes and video sculptures, Plessi dedicates himself primarily to the subject of water. In its substantiality and metaphorics, this fluid element is closest to the immaterial video images, as becomes clear in Backwater. The film begins with a zoom in on a closed window, and behind it a landscape of the imaginary, of passed references (Zarah Leander) and acousmatic waves opens, exerting a nostalgic pull.
