Poems: Written, Drawn, Selected and Read by Jimmie Durham is the first vinyl record published in the LP series of the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) founded by Marius Babias and Sergio Edelsztein (Ediciones Inauditas).


The recording took place in Berlin in April 2021. Jimmie Durham reads from his books Columbus Day (1983), Poems That Do Not Go Together (2012), and Particle / Word Theory (2020), as well as other, unpublished poems. The record includes an accompanying booklet with drawings by Jimmie Durham and a text by the poet Ammiel Alcalay, who locates Durham's poetry in American literature.


Jimmie Durham (b. 1940 in the US, †2021 in Berlin) was an artist, poet, essayist and political activist. In 2019 he was awarded the Golden Lion for his life's work at the Venice Biennale, and in 2016 he was awarded the Goslar Kaiserring. His work has been presented in numerous international exhibitions, including, most recently: Venice Biennale (2019; 2015; 2005; 2003; 2001; 1999); MAXXI, Rom (2016); Serpentine Gallery, London (2015); Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (2015); Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2014; 2003; 1993); Museo Madre, Naples (2013; 2008); MuHKA – Museum of Contemporary Art, Antwerp (2012); Swiss Institute, New York (2012); Documenta, Kassel (2012; 1992); 29th São Paulo Biennial (2010); Centre Pompidou, Paris (2010); Kunsthalle Bern (2010); Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris (2009); Museum Ludwig, Cologne (2006).
