Nordstern Videokunstzentrum. Werke aus der Sammlung des n.b.k. Video-Forums

Since 2012, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein equips the Nordstern Video Art Center in the landmarked Nordstern Tower in Gelsenkirchen. On five levels, in an annual cycle, changing exhibitions of international video art were set up, coming from the collection of n.b.k. Video Forum, the oldest and one of the largest video art collections in Germany, founded in 1971, with more than 1,600 works. The following exhibitions have been realized: Schichtwechsel (2012-2013), Time Pieces (2014), Feminismen (2015), A Sense of History (2016). The plug-in system Ellen (2008) by Silke Wagner served as a display for the presentation of works and documents of the international video art practice from the early years up to the present. Altogether, 116 art works by 115 artists were shown.

The publication can be purchased at local bookshops, via the website of Buchhandlung Walther König, and at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein. Members of Neuer Berliner Kunstverein can buy the book at n.b.k. for the special price of 15.00 Euro.
