Noah Barker
Noah Barker’s Juniper (2024) gains its title from an eponymous Pacific Ocean nuclear test. By printing film stills of the blast on LSD blotter paper, the work suggests ingestion of ‘the bomb’, implicating countercultural self-realization in the Cold War complex of experimentation. The resemblance of the blotter sheet to a flicker film strip poses an additional parallel of cinematic hallucination and psychotropic induced visions.
Noah Barker‘s (*California, lives and works in New York) practice comprises video, installation, sound, conceptual wall works, and subtle interventions in exhibition spaces. His work has been shown in international solo and group exhibitions, a. o.: Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (2026); Provisional Information, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2025); Kunstverein Braunschweig (2025); Museion, Bozen/Italien (2024); Progetto, Lecce/Italien (2022); Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma, Rom (2021).
