Anna Steinert
Anna Steinert’s (*1983 in Krefeld, lives and works in Berlin) artistic practice combines painting, drawing, objects, films, and videos. Her abstract paintings are reconstructions of fleeting moments, encounters, and states; her reflections on feminist theory and activism connect the personal with the collective and the political. In a broad and distinct color palette, using expressive gestures and abstraction, she comments on sociopolitical, ecological, and economic crises, giving visual expression to her protest against society’s patriarchal structures. Her works have been shown, among others, at Kunstverein Rosenheim (2019); Female Artists Program, Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art, Berlin (2019); Galerie Tanja Wagner, Berlin (2021); Kunstmuseum Bochum (2019); Superdeals, Brussels (2018).
