Tobias Zielony (born 1973 in Wuppertal) lives and works in Berlin. In his mostly photographic works he portrays juvenile marginalized groups in their often precarious environments. Through the close contact with people and through his formal and restrained visual language he creates intensity in his works without being voyeuristic. Video of the Month is the title of a series of presentations featuring works from the n.b.k. Video-Forum collection, which were shown on n.b.k.'s website and in the n.b.k. Video-Forum’s viewing room, complemented by critical essays. The series is curated by Kathrin Becker.
