Venue: Buchhandlung Walther König, Burgstraße 27, 10178 Berlin

On the occasion of the exhibition Archipel by Arno Brandlhuber at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (8 September - 4 November 2012) and at KOW Berlin (8 September – 20 October 2012), a catalog with collected materials on the projects of the Berlin based architectural office Brandlhuber + was published, as part of the book series “n.b.k. Exhibitions”. Accompanied by a photographic essay by Erica Overmeer, an interview by Hans-Ulrich Obrist with Arno Brandlhuber and a text by Nikolaus Kuhnert and Anh-Linh Ngo, the publication draws a line from the issues of urban policy raised in the exhibition to the architectural practice of the office. The book is complemented by a selection of interviews with Arno Brandlhuber on Berlin’s urban development policy in recent years as well as a detailed list of works. According to the motto, proposed by Brandlhuber together with Akademie c/o, “architecture is the organization of social relationships through the constructed”, the book outlines an exemplary positioning of the relationship between theory and practice of urban development policy.
