The present volume Ute Meta Bauer: Kuratorische Praxis. Interviews und Gespräche (curatorial practice: interviews and conversations) is a collection of talks and interviews by and with Ute Meta Bauer, gathered from more than 25 years of practice as an artist, professor and curator. Along such chapters as “Institutions”, “Academy”, “Curating” and “Art Education”, Bauer’s career can be followed, as well as a dialogical reflection about the field of art and its players. Together with Sabeth Buchmann and based on her contribution Informationsdienst (information service) to this volume, Ute Meta Bauer looks at dialogical practice as a feminist practice, and furthermore at the communication of critical discourse and issues in exhibitions. What began in collective artistic practice for the two authors, by today has found its way into the academy and thus into teaching and is interrelated with the academic production of knowledge.
