The Zapruder Effect. Four Investigations

Dec 5, 2026 – Feb 7, 2027

n.b.k. Video-Forum, Thu 12–8 pm, Fri–Sun 12–6 pm

Artists: Emmanuel Licha, Miles Rufelds, Susan Schuppli, Sanaz Sohrabi

Curator: Marie J. Jean, Director VOX, centre de l'image contemporaine, Montreal (CA)

The Zapruder Effect. Four Investigations, a special exhibition at the n.b.k. Video-Forum, explores how artists draw on archives, imaging technologies, and investigative methods to bring to light political, historical, and environmental realities that have remained outside the frame. Four films by Emmanuel Licha, Miles Rufelds, Susan Schuppli, and Sanaz Sohrabi – ranging from documentary investigation to parafiction – put the image to work, examining, cross-checking, and reconfiguring the traces through which facts come to be written.

In parallel, VOX presents the three-part screening series INFRASTRUCTURES in Montréal, curated by Anna Lena Seiser, with works from the n.b.k. Video-Forum collection, from October 15, 2026 to May 22, 2027.
