With “rapid eyes,” a different reality comes to view: Hanke-Wahls demonstrates in rapid eyes how perception is altered in the electronic age. What were once images are transferred to layerings, alienations, fragmentations of reference, in a pulsation, rotating substrate of visuality even in the tension between classical phenomenologies of the avant-garde film and video: grains and pixels in rapid vision.
