Three Transitions

Campus’ pioneering achievement, among others, consists of using the new technological possibilities of the period as metaphors for the psyche of the self. In his key work Three Transitions he combines the basic video techniques of blue screen and video compositing in order to question the reality of his own image: he stabs himself in the back; he crawls through his own body; he erases his face with make-up; he burns his self portrait. Image and mirror image become the reality of the image within the separate reality of the medium.
