This short piece consists of a scene with two people at an airport lounge, shown as a negative image. The woman in the centre of the frame turns away and then back toward the camera. Her movement is then repeated again and again, like a doll or a mechanical figure. This one gesture becomes completely familiar and monotonous and Sandra Becker uses the single movement like a repeated note in a modern piece of video music, the only sound in a silent virtual space. She brilliantly captures this single precious moment, one split second of life, raising something utterly mundane to a place of significance and memorability. (lg)
