The video begins with a scene of a man hooked up to a computer screen, a circular image of a woman s mouth opens over his face, counting down as the man lays unconscious. As if a computer s voice implanted in his mind, he is then fed the daily news and images of entertainment media. They flash rapidly in filtered multi-colouring and distortion. The video continues with various technicolor collages, presenting an imagined future with a synthesized space-age aesthetic. Max Almy constructs colourfully hypnotic social commentary about the overloaded TV and media frenzied environment of the 80 s, consumerism, and the technology obsessed post modern man, set in a beautifully imagined futuristic computer-run world.
