Rozita Sharaf Jahan
Rozita Shahraf Jahan (*1962 in Tehran, lives in Tehran) is a painter, video artist, and the director of Azad Gallery in Tehran. She began her artistic practice at the time of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. The critique of this social upheaval is a common thread running through both her artistic and curatorial practice. Her video works examine current social and political realities in Iran. In directing Azad Gallery’s program, she is similarly focused on independence from political constraints and market interests.
