Nevin Aladağ

Familie Tezcan

Aladağ’s works have sound—in a ver y literal sense. For many of her photographs, videos, installa- tions, and performances are based on sound experiments, dance, or music. By way of contemporar y popular culture, usually in contexts shaped by migration, Aladağ deals with identity, self-perception, and the perception of others, role ascriptions and models of self, like those of the Tezcans, a family of Turkish descent who breakdances enthusiastically for the video portrait Familie Tezcan.
