Vito Acconci creates an intimate and personal experience, stationing the camera blow his chin as he tells a narrative story, as a long stream of consciousness. He talks freely while rubbing and tapping his face, stopping often to hum a haunting tune, as the theme song to his story. The narrative is a somewhat cliché American television-type western, told in first person, Acconci playing the classic cowboy figure. His performance is hypnotic and he acts out the violent or dramatic parts of his narrative by stretching or tapping harder on his face. He turns his face into the stage or platform for his American tale, making it a very physical and confrontational experience. (lg)
