Rabih Mroué

Face A / Face B

The video uses family photographs and an audio cassette that the family recorded in 1978 for Mroué’s brother, who was studying in Moscow, as an audio-letter. Mroué begins an autobiographical journey that he comments upon from off camera, with stations from his childhood and of during the civil war in Lebanon. The artist is one of the key figures in the Lebanese art world and works at the intersection between art, theater, and performance, often on questions of visual politics.
