Bettina Allamoda

The Party / Remix I & II

Allamoda’s interest in politics of representation is expressed in The Party. Remix I + II, in which she uses scenes from the Hollywood comedy The Party (1968) by Blake Edwards and gives them a new connotation by adding a different soundtrack: Peter Sellers as the uninvited (Indian) guest wanders through a strange US-American apartment designed in an ultramodern fashion, and the party ends with an ecstatic bubble bath. Allamoda works in the field of tension between fashion, art, and architecture on an “archaeology of the present.”
