Antje Engelmann

Immer nach hintenWieWannWoWarum

For Immer nach hinten, the artist—accompanied by her siblings—went back to the site of her childhood in the southern German countryside. The video is designed as a music clip and stages a rap performance of the three siblings who revolt against the smugness of the rural idyll. Based on her own biography, Engelmann explores in her film and photography questions of family background, social belonging, and cultural formation, usually working in a documentary style.
