Nasan Tur (*1974 in Offenbach, living and working in Berlin) studied at the Städel School of Fine Arts in Frankfurt/Main and the University of Art in Offenbach. In his works, he reflects on social conditions, they address political ideologies as well as symbols of power and dissent. Nasan Tur was a participant of the 13th Istanbul Biennial (2013) and was represented in solo and group exhibitions, including Kunstraum Innsbruck (2014); Blain|Southern Gallery, Berlin (2013); Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki (2012); Kunsthalle Mannheim (2011); Kunstmuseum Stuttgart (2009); Yapi Kredi Art Gallery, Istanbul (2009); Tanas Berlin (2008); Taller Publico, Mexico City (2006).

Neuer Berliner Kunstverein offers six copies of Variationen von Kapital (Variations of Capital). A computer selects from about 40,000 possibilities different spellings of the word “Kapital”. These Nasan Tur then paints with ink on hand torn Tibet paper, so that each drawing is unique. The work refers to Capital by Karl Marx and addresses labor exploitation, mass production and artistic action.
