Celebrating the release of Hartmut Bitomsky’s new, 460-page book Geliehene Landschaften. Zur Praxis und Theorie des Dokumentarfilms (Borrowed Sceneries. On the practice and theory of documentary film) published by Buchhandlung Walther König, Cologne, there is a soirée including a talk with Hartmut Bitomsky at Walther König bookshop next to the Berlin Museum Island. After an introduction by Marius Babias (editor of the book and director of Neuer Berliner Kunstverein), excerpts from Bitomsky’s films are shown before Hartmut Bitomsky and Michael Baute (author and media professional) have a discussion on the practice and theory of documentary film, followed by some drinks.
